This month’s column will be about the twenty-fifth issue of Instauration magazine. On the front page it says Volume 2, Number 12 and is dated November 1977. Also on the front page is the picture of a Federal Reserve Note. In place of a picture on the note is the caption “The Rockefellers.”
As always, Page 2 is titled “The Safety Valve.” This is where the letters to the editor are printed. One letter reads as follows: “In his ‘The Neophyliacs,’ an illuminating study of Britain in the 1960s, Christopher Booker says that three of the four Beatles were of Liverpool Irish origin: Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and John Lennon (although Harrison is of course an English name).
“This does not prevent one or two of them from also having some Jewish antecedents, like the Prime Minister, James Callaghan, who has an Irish name and a much-advertised Jewish grandmother. Certainly, Lennon looks like a Jew, although McCartney, the only handsome Beatle, most definitely doesn’t. Ringo Starr is another matter. I have heard more than once that his is Jewish, despite his original surname (Starkey), and he is the most Jewish thing I have ever set eyes on.”
The title of the feature article is “The Rockefellers.” The subtitle is “Four generations of plutocratic Jukes are enough.”
William Avery Rockefeller was a con artist. He was a pitch man with a diamond stickpin. He sold cancer cures for $25. He deserted his family and became a bigamist.
William Avery begat John D. John D. made his fortune by being in the right place at the right time. He managed to corner the petroleum market. He lived to the age of 98. He spent the last years of his life handing out dimes and playing the stock market.
John D. begat John D. Jr. John D. Jr. was taken in a phony stock deal in his early twenties. He lost over a million dollars. He spent the rest of his life giving money away. He set up the Rockefeller Foundation. He embarked on three restoration projects in France. He restored the Versailles Palace, the Cathedral of Reims, and the Fontanblieu Palace. He still had enough money left to leave $100 million to each of his five sons.
John D. Jr. begat John D III. John D. III was the family’s Japanese expert. He was also the moneybag for the Lincoln Center. He also tried to cozy up to the new left.
The article also covered the antics of John D. Jr.’s other progeny.
Another article in this issue is titled “The Case that Started White Flight.” Before 1958 it was possible to give a desirable piece of property a deed that had a clause restricting the sale of the land or the house to Whites. Since the buyer and the seller made the transaction with full knowledge of this restriction, it was binding on both of them. It was enforced in the state courts.
A Supreme Court ruling put an end to this. In Shelley v. Kraemer (1948), the Supreme Court ruled that racial covenants were no longer enforceable, in either state courts or federal courts. The case evolved out of two cases, one out of St. Louis, and one out of Michigan. The Michigan case was Sipes v. McGhee. Both cases upheld the racial covenant. They argued that a private agreement, such as a real estate transaction, was not subject to the Fourteenth Amendment.
The Supreme Court did not buy this. They ruled such covenants were unconstitutional, even though many covenants had been existence longer than the Supreme Court had. In the Sipes case, the attorneys representing the plaintiffs were Thurgood Marshall and Spottswood Robinson. They had some pretty powerful allies. Among them were Maurice Sugar and Morton Eden, both lawyers for the United Automobile Workers. Also among them were Alan Brown and Ben Safir, representing the American Jewish Congress. (According to Time magazine, the American Jewish Congress had a budget of $2 million by 1974 for anti-White litigation.) Another was Ernest Goodman from the National Lawyers Guild.
When this case reached the Supreme Court, it accumulated even more allies. One was Julius Goldstein of the Anti-Nazi league. Two more lawyers from the National Lawyers Guild appeared as well: O. John Rogge and Mozart Ratner. Harvey Weinstock and Ralph Hellestein of the C.I.O. (Congress of Industrial Organization) joined the fray. I wonder if the factory workers who paid their dues money to the CIO realized that their dues money was being used to erode the values of their homes.
In a lot of civil liberties cases, the Jews working behind the scenes would recruit White front men for their cause. In this case, they recruited Alger Hiss and Philip Jessup, standing in for the American Association for the United Nations.
