Congratulations to Harry Bertram, the American Freedom Union’s candidate for the West Virginia House of Delegates, who polled 937 votes in the 51st District. The leading vote-getter in the 12 person field of five Democrats, five Republicans, one Libertarian and one AFU candidate received 16,244 votes.
So Harry didn’t win, but that wasn’t why he ran. A third party candidate with relative peanuts to work with isn’t going to win. The point was to lead by example and Harry did, as he has done often over the past three decades.
Harry and some associates attended a Donald Trump rally in Wheeling and passed out hundreds of Nationalist Times newspapers. Thanks to AFU supporters he was able to purchase newspaper and radio advertising. He was interviewed by several media outlets, which were mostly fair.
But when the call went out for help with distributing campaign literature in his district, Nationalist Times Editor Don Wassall drove from Pennsylvania to help, as did an associate from Virginia. But no one else did, although there were dozens of Nationalists within 60 miles driving distance, many of them young.
And that pretty much summarizes the state of Nationalism in America today. It’s highly unlikely anyone will follow Harry Bertram’s example, because almost no one engages in political activism anymore, and it’s been that way for a long time now. Oh, the alt-right emerged from behind their computer screens and engaged in street activity for a brief period, which ended very badly for them, culminating in the aftermath of the Charlottesville Unite the Right rally last August, and now what’s left of the alt-right is once again safely typing on their computer keyboards and doing little else.
The smart thing for the alt-right to have done was to put their energies into building a Nationalist political vehicle, one that emphasizes populism and common sense nationalism rather than obsessing about race to the exclusion of everything else, thus playing into the hands of their enemies. But that entails pragmatism, compromise and savvy, along with lots of sweat and blood, and that doesn’t appeal to the younger generation. Purist rhetoric and expecting instant solutions has replaced wisdom and hard work.
The November midterm election showed yet again how close Middle America is to being toppled at the ballot box. Donald Trump very narrowly carried several large population states in 2016 to win; the Republicans did the same in 2018 to maintain their small majority in the U.S. Senate. But the writing is on the wall, in very large letters – it’s just a matter of time before Texas, Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, and Arizona follow what’s happened to California and become permanent far-left strongholds.
In the new Congress, 45 of California’s 53 Congressmen will be Democrats. Republicans still carry “flyover” country, but the countryside is being gradually depopulated while large urban areas are being turned into “global cities” that are highly multiracial and intensely hostile to Whites.
The November election highlighted just how close America is to having the Permanent Cultural Communist Revolution that was imposed from the top-down, endorsed at the ballot box by a population transformed by non-White immigration and relentless communist ideological indoctrination.
