It is typical of the sick left wing mind to punish the innocent for their gain. The latest example is Chicago’s Rev. Jesse Jackson in concert with a notorious left wing Roman Catholic priest, Michael Pfleger, threatening to block the busy Dan Ryan Expressway (I-90/94) running north and south into Chicago’s central business district. And on July 7th they were allowed to do so thanks to the capitulation of moderate Republican Governor Bruce Rauner.
Originally, the Illinois state police, which patrols the highway, sent Jackson and Pfleger a letter stating that people who walked on any part of the expressway “will face arrest and prosecution.” Jackson/Pfleger tore up the letter at a press conference.
These Democrat mobsters have the minds of criminals in that they think their misconduct trumps the lawful conduct of thousands of expressway motorists. Any “inconvenience” Jackson/Pfleger cause trapped drivers is of no consequence to them. Of course their cause is so “noble,” protesting the high level of violence in the ghetto areas adjacent to the Ryan.
In 2017, Chicago experienced some one thousand carjackings. The arrest rate of murderers plummeted to a catastrophic 17 percent. Governor Rauner asked for additional money to hire 200 additional state troopers to patrol the Chicago interstates, due to the dramatic increase in shootings on the expressways.
Yet the Jackson/Pfleger mob leaders are blind to the fact that by their lawless examples they have contributed to Chicago’s lawless reputation, including being a “sanctuary city” and America’s most corrupt city according to a study by the University of Illinois.
The “Chicago way” model is what mob rule Democrats seek to impose on the whole country. As Chicago politician Barack Obama attempted in the White House, leaving a huge list of problems for the Trump administration to fix.
In Chicago, with the complicity of moderate Gov. Rauner, mob rule leaders Jackson and Pfleger have been allowed to set a precedent which will have serious civil order consequences for years to come. The 2018 general election and 2020 presidential election should be used to ensure the “Chicago precedent” doesn’t spread to the whole country.
