Courtroom 7C at 333 Las Vegas Blvd. is the location of the stunning Perjury Circus referred to as the retrial of the Tier 3 Bundy Ranch defendants. Observers have ringside seats for this second remarkable show of criminality by the U.S. government. A legal analyst and historian announced to a crowd outside that “this trial is the lowest point in criminal justice history.”
The ringleader in this farce is federal judge Gloria Navarro, handpicked by Harry Reid and appointed as chief judge by Barack Obama. Nevada Bar members complained she was inexperienced and unqualified. In other words, the perfect candidate to do Dirty Harry’s bidding.
Astounding prosecutorial abuse and judicial misconduct have been the order of the day. The first trial ended in a hung jury on Eric Parker, Steve Stewart, Scott Drexler, all of Idaho and Ricky Loveline of Montana at the time of the stand-off in Bunkerville in April of 2014. Greg Burleson, now blind and having seizures, was sentenced to 68 years for posting things he didn’t do on Fedbook, aka Facebook. A word to the wise in Bolshevik Amerika — don’t drink and post.
Todd Engel of Montana is awaiting sentencing. His charges, again sharing angry but not his behavior of helping Nevada Highway Patrol direct traffic, should be released on time served, but Navarro wants to sentence him on acquitted conduct.
The first jury found no evidence of conspiracy and found that due to the heinous actions of the Bureau of Land Mismanagement (BLM) that these men were completely justified in their actions. And that jury didn’t hear the half of it. So what is a corrupt, totalitarian government to do to convict these men? Interviewing the jury from the first trial allowed Harry Reid’s pet judge Navarro and U.S. Prosecutor Steven Myhre to reverse engineer their strategy against these defendants.
Before the re-trial commenced on July 10, Myhre submitted his motion in limine, which is a pretrial motion to eliminate certain evidence from being used during trial. The certain evidence in this case was, in fact, all the evidence. The defense is not allowed to mention any of the actions of the BLM or other alphabet agencies leading up to the Saturday April 12, 2014 standoff in Bunkerville, Nevada. Not the tasing of Ammon Bundy three times, not the shooting of the Bundy cattle, not the orange-fenced First Amendment pen, not the picking up of Margaret Houston from behind and throwing her to the ground, not the dogs being sicced on a pregnant woman, not the snipers on the hills, not the kidnapping of Dave Bundy, not the statement from Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval condemning these actions, not how militarized the agents were, and certainly not how they felt about it all. Nothing, nada, zilch.
Bundy Ranch supporters now call Navarro “Diablo,” Spanish for devil, and have erected a huge IMPEACH NAVARRO banner in front of Federal District Court. As The Las Vegas Review Journal wrote following the rubber-stamping of this outrageous motion, “Government prosecutors have a friend in U.S. District Judge Gloria Navarro.” Diablo next stacked the jury for the government by reversing five of the defense’’ jury strikes, placing even an ex-cop back on the jury.
