We are a society in which large percentage of people, especially those of the political left, are unable to distinguish wrong from right. When American 8th graders were recently posed the question, Is it wrong to cheat on exams, the almost universal response was, “Not if you don’t get caught.” This indicates a total lack of moral education.
With the end of religious education in schools and the omission of any teaching of morals and ethics, we have sunk into a morass of compost. The ACLU, ADL, SPLC and other Jewish extreme left organizations have led a relentless war against Christian religious education, and the teaching of Western morality.
The Founding Fathers were very clear on this issue. All of them studied the Bible, and every one of them who had children insisted that they be confirmed and educated in traditional Christian values. Today, about 71% of the U.S. population identifies as Christian, with 46.5% actually attending church services on a regular basis. The number has been declining for the last 100 years. Every Sunday in our church, we have a message in the sermon, which is love your neighbor and do what’s right. If you are incapable of defining right, the war is lost!
Radical leftist political philosophy centered in state secularism has given rise to the idea that there is no absolute wrong and right and that whatever you believe and however you behave is acceptable. This completely contradicts Western, Christian teachings and philosophy. Denial of truth, which is what this is, will ultimately cause societal collapse.
Recalling men to traditional moral and ethical values will not provide all the solutions to our problems; it is however a step in the right direction. Without such behavior there can be no economic freedom and no social justice. The argument by socialists is that they reject morality on the basis that such rules based in religion may not necessarily apply to all our problems. No one disputes that, but it is much more than just obvious that we have been headed in the wrong direction for many decades and in reality have nothing to lose by changing course, back to that of our very successful forefathers’ direction. Continuously repeating the mistakes of secularism is, in the words of Einstein, “insanity,” doing the same failed thing over and over again and anticipating a different outcome. This is exactly where the secularist have taken us!
